Clara Santos RMT
Registered Massage Therapist

Clara is one of Renew You’s deep tissue massage specialists. For the well traveled massage client who needs and likes deep manipulation work, Clara is the therapist for you. She has been a practicing massage therapist since 2005. Her experience covers spa and resort settings, as well as the rehab, multi-disciplinary clinic nature of Renew You. She is known as Renew You’s warm and gentle soul.

While her ability to help you relax or to work deeply into your aching muscles is great, she is repeatedly sought after for her adept ability to deliver…. SILENCE during your treatment. While she is certainly talkative, she is not “gabby”. If you have found you like massage, but your therapist talks through your ability to deeply relax and truly enjoy it, you will love Clara.

Many clients are shocked at how surprisingly effective Clara’s deep tissue work can be. Great strength can come from “small packages”. Clara has unusually strong hands and fabulous upper body strength for effective deep tissue work. Whether you only want a relaxation massage, a de-stressing session or are rehabbing an injury, Clara’s massage is superb. When she joined Renew You’s staff in the spring of 2006, she got busy right away and built up regular clientele very quickly – both true measures of effective high quality massage therapy work.

Richard Everett RMT
Registered Massage Therapist

Richard has become to be known as Renew You’s “technical” massage specialist. He has always been focused on health. Early in high school, he had gained a keen interest in health and biology and decided at that point to further his interest and knowledge into health care. So he enrolled at the Canadian Therapeutic College (CTC) to pursue a career in registered massage therapy. After graduating and successful completion of the Ontario provincial board exams, he became a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) registration G151 in 1999.

He started his massage therapy career working with a chiropractor, focusing his knowledge and skills on rehabilitative therapy. It is in this type of “rehab clinic” environment that Richard has spent his entire 12 year career. Within four different Hamilton clinics, for over a decade he has been working closely with several chiropractors and physiotherapists on a very wide variety of difficult injury and pain cases loads. And it is because of this professional experience and exposure that Richard has been able to advance and hone his skill set to a high level.

Richard’s unique methodologies distinguish him from his colleagues because of the many advanced body work techniques that he has picked up, learned and utilizes. By incorporating joint mobilization, trigger point therapy, hydro- therapy, and other modalities into his massages, he always tries to ensure the best treatment possible to get the maximum results. Upon finding and trying Richard for massage therapy, a great many patients are positively taken back as they experience how different his treatments are compared to other RMTs they have tried, as well as the positive therapeutic benefits they receive.

Over the past 12 years working as a registered massage therapist, he has learned to incorporate these modalities together to create the best program, tailored to each client’s individual needs. Realizing that massage therapy is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, Richard also sees a need to create a peaceful and relaxing mood during treatment. As a registered massage therapist, he will endeavor to create a mind/ body connection in order to create a well rounded healing process for you.

Michelle Clarkson RMT
Registered Massage Therapist

Michelle Clarkson is our newest family member at Renew You. While Michelle is a recent 2011 registered and fully designated massage therapy graduate, you might never know it. She handles herself like a pro – with confidence, ease and extraordinary professionalism.

She is a powerhouse of a strong individual, so Michelle can work deeply into your muscles for those who prefer deep tissue work. And she is soft, nimble and tranquil when you want to de-stress and relax.

Whether its relaxation massage, sports therapy massage or deep tissue massage you seek, Michelle`s technique is fabulous. We know this because of the extremely high “re-booking” rate that she has. The majority of new clients that re-book with her and become steady regulars. That is the true measure of a good registered massage therapist. Plus she is a fabulous person, everyone likes her TONS and she is very thorough in her work.

Michelle believes in the body’s ability to heal itself. And that massage therapy is one of the many paths to restoring health and overall wellness to the body. Patients will feel very relaxed and comfortable with Michelle’s sincere and easy going nature.

In addition to massage, Michelle is also very passionate about traveling the world, photography, writing and simply enjoying what life has to offer! Her favourite places in the world are Greece, Hawaii and Spain.

A lifetime Hamilton native, Michelle and her husband Mike live locally close by where they enjoy life with their two labs Dakota and Hunter.

Rita Cuvay RMT
Registered Massage Therapist

Update September 2010: Rita unfortunately no longer works at Renew You. She has stepped away from practicing massage therapy at our clinic for the moment to start a family. In September 2010, Mike & Rita became proud parents to Lily! As we know the only thing Rita loved more than people was children and the desire to become a parent herself. We at Renew You want to thank Rita with immense gratitude for her 6+ years of hard work and dedication at the clinic. We wish Rita nothing but continued success and prosperity in motherhood and in all her endeavors.

Justin Doherty RMT

Update April 2010: Justin unfortunately no longer works at Renew You. He accepted a full time position with another large company he works for in a corporate training position and is no longer practicing massage therapy at our clinic.
